Following a period of extensive research and planning late last year, Jesmond Dene House Hotel & Restaurant was proud to launch its new website this week.

Designed to showcase the hotel more fully, the new look site has a greater pictorial and photographic feel which the hotel hopes resonates with its customers both old and new. It also boasts a number of new features and simplified systems making online booking and reservations simpler for the user.

Overall, it represents a marked departure from the original site, clearly depicting the hotel's evolution while also marking a clear shift away from traditional hotel websites, which on the whole follow a very similar style and format.

Nick McIvor, Revenue Manager at Jesmond Dene House Hotel & Restaurant was responsible for directing the project in-house. Of the new site he says: "As an established boutique hotel with a strong web offering we wanted to build upon this and take the website to the next level both visually and in terms of content and function. Making the site as simple to access and use was a priority, as was enhancing our online booking systems for the benefit of those wanting to book rooms, make restaurant reservations and purchase vouchers. In addition, we wanted to create innovative user experiences  and so, for those who have yet to visit our property we have incorporated a 360 degree virtual tour which enables the user to get a real sense of the hotel and our many amenities and facilities and our blog will feature standard articles along with video content further bringing our offering to life."

Ahead of the site's official launch the hotel asked its many social media followers across Facebook and Twitter to critique the site which generated a significant response.

Nick adds: "We were so confident in the new website; its visual appeal, accessibility and functionality that we invited our loyal followers across social networking platforms to comment upon it. The response was overwhelmingly positive and we took all feedback on board, to ensure the site performed to the highest possible standard."

Now live, the site is already recording increased web traffic and the hotel is confident that it will deliver enhanced online sales in 2014.
