Our award-winning Restaurant (three AA Rosettes) takes a fresh and contemporary approach to classic dishes and classic combinations. Head Chef, Pierre Rigothier, blends a modern style with his exacting French training to create dishes that are light, flavoursome and appealing. Sometimes with a sexy little twist. We don't believe in rules and formality; we do believe in ensuring you have a good time. Whether you fancy our great value Lunch Menu (£16.50 including coffee) or a leisurely dinner, you'll find an atmosphere that's warm, relaxed and friendly.
Ingredients are what count, of course - fresh and seasonal, naturally, and we use the best we can find. Perhaps scallops from Scotland, organic beef from Northumberland, pigeon from Anjou, France. We get to know our suppliers so we can be sure they care about their produce. Some of the herbs, fruit and vegetables come from the hotel garden.
There's something here for everyone, from a business lunch with colleagues to Sunday lunch with the family; relaxed supper with friends (the Market Menu is just £26 for three courses) to a foodie-lovers' tasting menu.
Our Restaurant, which this summer was given a fresh 'new look', has two dining areas: the former music room with earthy tones and fun splashes of orange beneath the original plasterwork ceiling, and the light and leafy Garden Room with its summer terrace.
We're open every day, breakfast through to dinner, to non-residents as well as hotel guests.
