A fun, one-day introduction to wine tasting and the world of wine leading to the internationally recognised Foundation Certificate of the Wine and Spirit Education Trust, with an emphasis on food and wine matching. What's the difference between tannin and acidity? What does new oak smell like? Is Riesling always sweet? What goes with oysters, or curry, or chocolate? Lots of eating and drinking, with a short multiple choice exam at the end. No previous knowledge required - the Foundation Certificate is very much aimed at the beginner.
